As a frequent shopper, I’ve seen the good, the bad, and non-existence when it comes to customer service in stores. I’ve been treated rudely and been completely ignored by sales associates as well as dealing with workers that don’t have a clue what they’re doing at their own job. When I come across an excellent, over-the-top experience in a store it changes the way I look at the company and definitely gets me to come back for more shopping.

After about 9 months of perfect wear, a Henri Bendel ring I wear often broke. It was a Buckle Up Band Ring that shined brightly and fit perfectly. The buckle part of the ring unattached from the ring, making it unwearable and I had no clue how it happened but breaking a ring after a long period of time usually ends up being the customers fault. I brought it back in to the store to see if they can suggest anything I could do to fix it. There were a ton of customers strolling the Short Hills Mall store but a sales associate immediately came up to me to ask if I needed any help. I told her the ring situation and without questioning it she went in the back, got a new one, make sure it fit just right, and made an exchange. There was no discussion of who’s fault it could be, how long I’ve had it, or how it broke. The store immediately made sure they accommodated me as quickly as possible and had no problem replacing my $58 ring (which isn’t pocket change for a ring). I was blown away at the ease of the experience in the store, especially considering I didn’t expect that service when approaching someone with a used, broken item. If you’re looking for great accessories at a moderate to high price point that include perfection in customer service, Henri Bendel is the place to go.
