Australia’s 22 year old rapper Iggy Azalea leaked her music video for her single “Murda Buziness and added a tiny toddler twist. The song, like most of her work, is rough around the edges and not what you’d play for your 7 year old but she added a creative turn to mock TLC’s Toddlers & Tiaras to bring more humor into the obscene song.
Starting out the video with herself being portrayed as a pageant mom with her “beauty pageant daughter”, the acting mocks the insensitive stigma that goes along with what viewers have seen on the show. The song reflects (loosely) how competitive they make these children and act as though it is extremely serious. Breaking up the video with a commentary but her boss and rapper T.I. (playing a father of a pageant girl), the highly made up little girls then act out and rebel against the pageant life. Some are taking the video more seriously than they should and not seeing the irony in what Iggy was trying to portray.
