Your Best Accessory: Your Man & His Bow tie

Girls can dangle a Tiffany’s bracelet from their wrist, a Louis Vuitton bag from their arm, or maybe even a Starbucks Venti Frappuccino in their palm. Hours upon hours can be spent prepping yourself every morning to make sure you look your best but what everyone forgets that the man by your side is another accessory that’s just as vital.

A well-dressed man on your arm can be just as influential as your own ensemble and lets not lie, most of them don’t have the same fashion sense you do. (If you’ve found one that does – he’s a keeper.) For the rest of us, it becomes our responsibility to make sure they look chic, yet manly at all times. Incase there’s any confusion, I am not referring to basketball shorts and a white tee to show off how “athletic” he is. As much as he may work out, let his muscles show that off – not his clothing.

After careful consideration, and a close look at the Oscars Academy Awards last night, I have come to realize no man should have a closet that does not include a casual day-to-day bowtie. It can style up any outfit with a small piece of flair that ties the whole look together. It adds prep to their step and automatically makes you a power couple whether you’re walking down Fifth Avenue or just walking your dog. Bow ties can be super casual, in just about every color and pattern, and now come in a vast selection of fabrics. You can pair it with a button-down shirt and a pair of khakis or well fitted denim jeans. Additions like sweaters or suspenders add an over the top flair but that not might be your man’s style. You can even add it to a more urban outfit to soften up a louder look. Once you put these bowties in his possession, and probably style the rest of the outfit around it, the only thing you have left to worry about is making sure you stop traffic just as often as he does.
